Wahoo Academy

The Wahoo Swim Academy is a recreational swim program open to youth, ages 6-18, who want structured coaching, skill development, and fitness... all offered with flexibility to fit your schedule and goals. 

Led by experienced coaches, practices focus on stroke development, technique, fitness, confidence, and preparation for future competitive swimming or continued recreational swimming. 

Flexible -->  Wahoo Swim Academy is a great way for swimmers to stay in the pool while participating in other sports and activities, fill in between seasons, or use swimming as a fun and effective way to cross-train.

What to know

  • Available November 2026 - March 2027
  • This is a month-to-month recreational program with no minimum practice requirements or volunteer commitment. 
  • It is open to all abilities, from beginners through advanced swimmers.
  • It is open to pool members and non-members.
  • No regular swim meets are scheduled; however, occasional informal inter-squad meets may be held for tracking progress and goal achievement. 
  • This is not a USA Swimming affiliated program.

Rates

Pool Members: $95/month per swimmer

Non-Members: $115/month per swimmer

  • Sibling discount: $10 off each additional swimmer
  • No enrollment fee; however, a $3/swimmer fee is assessed by the registration platform the first time you register (good for 1 year).

Practice Groups

Beginner - Swimmers should be comfortable swimming full lengths of the pool without stopping and have experience with most of the competitive strokes. Typically 7-8 yrs old.

Intermediate - Swimmers should be comfortable swimming repeated 50s and have experience with starts, turns, and all four competitive strokes. Typically aged 9-12 yrs old

Advanced - This group will participate in more challenging practices focused on conditioning, technique, endurance, and developing speed. Typically experienced swimmers aged 13-18 yrs old.

*Coaches will assess swimmers within the first couple of weeks and make any group placement changes they feel would be best for the swimmer.

Schedule

For advancement of skill and ability, swimmers should attend practice 2-3x/week. However, there is no minimum commitment.

Practice Days: Monday - Thursday

  • Beginner: 4:00 – 4:45 pm
  • Intermediate: 4:45 -5:45 pm
  • Advanced: 5:45 - 7:15 pm
